I thought it appropriate to begin with a post on how the council are helping small businesses in the borough. They’ll be lots more of these but firstly we’ll look at their Olympics page on their website. What can Newham businesses get from the games? Here’s the main text from their website:
“Businesses will take advantage of the thousands of visitors expected to continue coming long after the Games finish. The cutting-edge media and broadcast centre will also be a new focus for the capital’s creative sector.”
So increased footfall will be the main advantage. Not only at the time of the Games but for years afterwards as the sporting facilities will be used way into the future. The creative industry in the borough will also be a focus for this blog. Currently bids are being accepted for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Press & Broadcast Centre. Could this have a knock-on effect and boost this industry in the area, we’ll try and find out?
